This is the room for Avant Garde, Eclectic, Early Electronic, Modern Composers, the NWW List, Obscure World Music, Free-From, 60's, 70's, 80's Fringe Rock etc. Basically anything outside the norm. This does not mean, though, that everyone has to play La Monte Young, Xenakis, or Cage all evening.
It is NOT the the place for CURRENT popular, top 40, TECHNO/electronica, or whatever Pitchfork says is the next hot thing. We also realize that most people on this site probably have their own band, so please refrain from bombarding us with your OWN catalog.
We use a LIST when the room gets busy, for fairness to all that wish to spin. When the list is in use, the general rule of thumb is, 3 plays then off the stage for the next in line. Once you are off the stage you can sign up for another round.
If your looking for a room to act like an unsupervised 6 year old, then don't even bother coming in. This is a public room which means people of all sexes and ages, so please act civilized. I have no problems booting you from the room for violating this. People come to these rooms to spin and listen to music, not to hear juvenile ramblings.
Please do NOT abuse the LAME button. In here, the Lame button is really for tracks that violate the guidelines of this room.
I realize this seems like a a lot of guidelines, but I have been on here just long enough to realize that these are necessary for creating a quality room in TT where people can come to HEAR great eclectic music.
